Dynowatt Receives High Marks from Texas Customers
For the second year in a row, Dynowatt has earned a strong vote of confidence from Texas electricity customers. J.D. Power and Associates, the well-known marketing information services company, awarded Dynowatt four out of five stars in its Power Circle Rankings. The third-party survey confirms Dynowatt’s firm commitment to strong customer service and low prices.
The J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Texas Residential Retail Electric Provider Customer Satisfaction Study analyzes data compiled from more than 7,300 Texas residential utility customers. These randomly chosen Texans were asked to rank their Texas electric choice provider on several criteria: Billing and Payment, Price, Communications, Customer Service and Overall Satisfaction. The study reports that Dynowatt customers were particularly pleased with the company’s low kilowatt per hour rates and awarded the company high Overall Satisfaction marks.
While low prices will always be attractive to customers (and their wallets), J.D. Power notes that consumer satisfaction is particularly high with certain customers: those who receive electricity generated from renewable resources. Dynowatt’s GoGreen is an example of one of these satisfying electric plans. When a customer signs up for GoGreen, he or she receives 100% wind-generated electricity, eliminating carbon emissions resulting from traditional forms of electric generation. Thanks to Dynowatt’s partnership with Invenergy, the turbines of the Camp Springs wind farm enable customers to gain peace of mind while saving money.
Another finding of the J.D. Power study is that customers are most satisfied when their REP contacts them by e-mail. Dynowatt understands this preference, offering a wide range of electronic communication options. Dynowatt customer service can still be reached the old-fashioned way, with a phone call or letter. Consumers have the option, however, to e-mail for answers, communicate through the Dynowatt Facebook page or even communicate with representatives in real-time chat through the company’s web site.
The outreach doesn’t stop there: the Dynowatt web site is also a one-stop shop for information, featuring dozens of articles to help customers reduce their energy usage and understand electricity. By becoming a Facebook Fan of Dynowatt, you can get customer service updates and information about programs such as the “Refer-A-Friend” program. This limited-time referral offer entitles Dynowatt’s Texas electricity customers to a check for $25 when a friend or family member also signs up. Even better, the new customer also receives a $25 check.
The J.D. Power rankings are particularly meaningful because of the unique nature of the Texas electric market. Dynowatt CEO Lance Scheier was one of the many voices calling for deregulation of the market, which would empower consumers to choose their Residential Electric Provider (REP). In 2002, Texas Senate Bill 7 freed Texans, leading to lower utility costs. Best of all, deregulation forced REPs to compete with each other. Companies needed to prove their value to customers, who now have a Texas electric choice and are free to make a switch if they were unhappy when their contracts ran out.
Receiving the kind of recognition the J.D. Power study provides is certainly a compliment that Dynowatt is happy to accept. What truly matters is that Dynowatt views the study as a challenge to improve its scores even more in the future and continue to find ways to satisfy its customers.
